The True Power of Prayer

Prayer doesn’t change things. It changes people and they change things.-Unknown

I live in St. Louis, Missouri, a part of the United States that has been in the national news more than we locals care to remember these past few years.

Residents in our area suffered because of police brutality and riots, and are just now returning to some semblance of normalcy.

(When I say normalcy, I mean the usual daily violence without a riot chaser…)

Now that we humans have cooled our jets, Mother Nature has decided to brutalize us with historic floods.

What bad cops, rioters, and nature seem to forget is that this is the Show Me State. And no one has shown us anything that we haven’t seen before.

We can handle it.

The prayers strengthen us and keep pushing us forward. Our faith is in our community and our strong will to survive.

We can get through anything because we strive to change what’s broken.
